BAN vs PAK LIVE: Hasan Ali reprimanded for violating ICC code of conduct

BAN vs PAK LIVE: Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali has once again made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Earlier, during the T20 World Cup 2021, fans slammed him for dropping a regulation catch to dismiss Matthew Wade.

The Australian went on to win the game and knock Pakistan out of the semi-final. Now, Hasan Ali has been reprimanded on Saturday for violating the Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

Hasan Ali is currently in Dhaka with the Pakistan cricket team playing the T20I series. The second T20I is taking place at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. However, during the first T20I, Hasan Ali was caught on camera doing something really awful against Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan.

The incident took place during the 17th over of Bangladesh’s innings in the first T20I on Friday. Hasan Ali gave an unfair send-off to Nurul Hasan after getting rid of him caught behind (Mohammad Rizwan).

Meanwhile, the ICC officials took good note of this inappropriate act. As a result, Hasan was found to have violated Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

This literally means: “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an international match. In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to the disciplinary record of Hasan, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period,” the International Cricket Council said in a statement.
