Shreyas Iyer Invents A Dance To Take A DRS Call Against KKR

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) locked horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 61st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the MCA Stadium in Pune. KKR eventually won the game by 54 runs, however, during the second innings, KKR skipper, Shreyas Iyer invested a dance step to take a DRS call.

The incident took place in the 16th over when SRH was reeling at 100/5. On the first ball of the over, SRH batter Shashank Singh got down on his knees to play the premeditated paddle-sweep and is struck on the front pad. The on-field umpire gave it not out and KKR skipper, Shreyas Iyer decided to send is upstairs and in order to do so he dabbed like Jesse Lingaard to take the DRS call.

In the replays it was confirmed that there was no bat/glove was involved and the ball was hitting the wickets at the umpire’s call. So, the onfield call stood. The impact was in front of off and ball-tracking showed it to be clipping the top of middle and leg stumps.

Here is the video of the incident:
