Kapil Dev Not Impressed With Sanju Samson For His Inconsistency Says He Scores In 1-2 Games And Then Fails

Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev has made a bold and straightforward opinion on Sanju Samson, who is currently struggling with consistency issues.

He didn’t made an impact in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League. Although he steered Rajasthan Royals to the final, he came under fire for his below-average batting.

The Indian selectors didn’t include him in the T20I series against the South African cricket team. Kapil Dev has expressed concerns over the wicketkeeper-batter’s form.

The right-handed batsman aggregated 458 runs in the IPL 2022 season. However, he converted only two of his starts into big scores.

Moreover, majority of the fans in the cricket fraternity want Samson in the reckoning for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. However, his current form hasn’t been that impressive.

The Indian team management picked Samson for India’s last T20I series against Sri Lanka. However, he hasn’t been named in the squad for the South Africa series.

Ever since his T20I debut in 2015, has represented India in 13 games where he maintained a poor batting average of 14.5. He registered his best score of 39.

“I am disappointed with Sanju Samson. He is so talented. He does well in one or two matches and then he does not do anything.

If you talk about wicketkeepers, they’re all almost the same. But if you talk about being the better batter, on a given day, all four can win you matches,” Kapil Dev said on ‘Uncut’.

Sanju Samson represented Team India in 1 ODI, 13 T20Is where he scored 46 and 174 runs respectively. He is yet to announce his arrival in international cricket
