ENG VS IND: The fifth and final Test between England and India got off to a steady start before the rain played spoilsport during the passage of play.

The rescheduled Test match is being held at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Earlier, England Test captain Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first.

India started quite decently in the form of Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill. As the overs progressed, Shubman Gill started playing some good shots.

He took the bowling attack to the cleaners by smashing four boundaries to his name. However, he failed to go about his business and was dismissed by James Anderson.

Shubman Gill played sensible cricket at the start of the innings as he left the balls that were coming outside the off-stump. However, a slight dip in concentration saw him play the ball.

Gill got a thick outside edge as the ball went towards to the slip as Zak Crawley took a very good catch in his safe pair of hands. Gill departed after scoring 17 runs. The game that was delayed due to wet outfield started later in the afternoon session.

Virat Kohli’s poor form continues as he failed to make use of the conditions to better effect. Matt Potts got rid of the former Indian skipper for just 11 runs.

The right-handed batter struck two boundaries and faced 18 deliveries. During the second ball of the 25th over, Virat Kohli tried to defend the ball but at the same time, decided to leave it in the first place, a move that backfired him.

Kohli was chopped on the line before getting bowled by Matt Potts. The video clip of the same has been doing the rounds on social media portals.
